Sergii Nizhankovskyi

Dr., Head of Department of Optical and Laser Crystals
Institute for Single Crystals, NAS of Ukraine
Dr. Sergii Nizhankovskyi is a senior researcher and head of Department of Optical and Laser Crystals at Institute for Single Crystals of NAS of Ukraine, Kharkiv (more than 100 scientific publications and patents): awarded by the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine for professional achievements (2018). His research is focused on single crystals and crystalline composites (oxides, nitrides) for applications in optics and optoelectronics, laser and scintillation techniques, LED/LD light sources. Recent achievements have been devoted to solving the following problems: the development of iridium-free technology for growing single crystals of refractory oxides in a protective reducing atmosphere; the development of methods of obtaining of large-size single crystals with highly homogeneous and gradient-controlled dopant distribution.
