Iurii Bogomol

Dr.Sci., Prof., Head of Department of High-temperature Materials and Powder Metallurgy National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” Ukraine
Iurii Bogomol graduated from the National Technical University of Ukraine “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”. He had short time fellowships in National Institute for Materials Science (Tsukuba, Japan), Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) and Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg (Germany). His scientific interests are: directional solidification of eutectic alloys, structure and properties of ceramic and metal-ceramic composites based on of refractory compounds; mechanical behaviour of the directionally solidified and SPSed boride and carbide ceramic eutectic composites in wide temperature range, high-entropy alloys based on refractory compounds. He was the manager and coordinator of more than 20 scientific and educational projects. He is the author of more than 280 scientific works and patents.

Vasylkiv O

Oleg Vasylkiv

Dr.Sci., Prof., Principal Researcher (Full Research Prof.) National Institute for Materials Science, Japan
Oleg Vasylkiv research focuses on combining the merits of ceramic powder synthesis with electric current-activated sintering techniques for the design of technologies applied to powder bodies, establishing morpho-structural and compositional features that lead to the fabrication of bulk deformation-resistant ultra-high-temperature ceramics (UHTC) with superior hardness, toughness, and flexural strength. Oleg completed his MS at NTU ‘KPI’ in 1994, followed by his PhD from IPMS NAS of Ukraine in 1997. He attained his Habilitation (Dr. Sci.) from the Highest Attestation Council of Ukraine (granted by IPMS NASU) in 2006. Since 1999, he has been a postdoctoral fellow at NRIM (currently NIMS) and a special researcher—an international postdoctoral fellow at NIMS since 2001.
