In 2004, he was recognized as an ICYS International Fellow and obtained tenure at NIMS in 2008. During this period, he garnered several prestigious awards on both national and international levels, such as Japan’s SPS & JSPS International Fellowships, the Ukrainian President’s Scholarship (which he received twice), Singapore’s inaugural Temasek Research Fellowship, and Ukraine’s State Prize in Science and Technology.
Dr. Vasylkiv is presently studying the chemical and structural engineering of deformation-resistant multimetal carbides, borides, and nitrides of Me (IV-V), known for their outstanding mechanical properties, even at temperatures reaching 2000 °C.
Throughout his 25 years at NIMS, he has engaged as a researcher, co-PI, and PI in numerous domestic and international projects. He has authored over 130 ISI papers, presented over thirty invited or keynote talks, and delivered several hundred regular presentations at leading international conferences.
